LONGER VERSION:
PRINCIPLES of the SOUTHWEST METRO TEA PARTY PATRIOTS Updated July 16, 2010
INTRODUCTION God made the people. The people made the states. The states made the federal government. That's how power is meant to flow. Thanks to the Woodrow Wilson’s Progressivism, FDR’s New Deal, LBJ’s Great Society and President Obama’s, “fundamentally transforming America” [i] , that’s all now backwards. The SW Metro Tea Party Patriots, like all citizens, have the duty to help reverse this trend, to uphold the Declaration of Independence’s principles and restore the Constitution’s three limited and divided branches of government. America’s identity is forever rooted in sacred and humane principles. Do you hear Lady DOP[ii] screaming, “America, you have surrendered your God-given endowment of inalienable rights!” Despite the fact that public education, the universities, and the media have rendered us oblivious to our founding heritage, America does have principles. The statists who are multiplying bureaucracies into every arena of national life are exploiting our historical amnesia. It should enrage you that they believe your rights are privileges granted by government. The larger the government, the smaller the citizen.
These principles are not arbitrary choices by the SWMTP, nor are they “imposed” on us today by the Founding Fathers. These are transcendent endowments, not subject to revision by those with a post-modern[iii], materialistic, anti-theistic worldview that diminishes human dignity (no wonder we have a holocaust of 52 million pre-born children). We are obligated to replace America’s progressive statism with the constitutional republicanism[iv] our Founders’ envisioned and legally mandated for all time. The burgeoning Tea Party movement is evidence of an extremely exciting and massive Patriot uprising. Complacency about a massive, overreaching Federal administrative state[v] can only occur when the collectivists have strategically diminished the American spirit of self reliance and independence. Help us mobilize our families, neighbors, friends, communities, state and nation to prevent federal authorities from becoming destructive of the principles below of civil society, liberty, morality and self government.
★★★★★★★★★★★ ★★★★★★★ ★PRINCIPLE 1 - Worldview The principles in the Declaration of Independence, the Biblical outlook of our Founders, and the symbols engraved on government buildings throughout Washington DC reflect a Judeo-Christian worldview. We pledge allegiance to divine providence and to our divinely inherited rights which government is legally required to protect, not usurp. We vehemently oppose secular humanism, nihilism, post-modernism, multiculturalism, values neutrality, and moral relativism. We refute the secularist demand for separation of church and state. We echo John Adams’ and Alexis de Tocqueville’s assertions that, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” “Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great!” Only a theistic worldview provides the ability to uphold goodness and combat evil threats to our safety. ★PRINCIPLE 2 - Self rule God made the people. The people made the states. The states made the federal government. Constitutional government is limited, with three offsetting branches, decentralized, controlled by the consent of the governed, and should be led by term-limited citizens not career politicians. “The only honorable course for a citizen is to conduct his life as though the Constitution, as originally understood, is in full force and effect, and if and when that brings him into conflict with public agents, to take a firm stance in opposition to their usurpations, regardless of consequences to himself, to them, or to others.” (Jon Roland) ★PRINCIPLE 3 - The Pursuit Of Happiness Private property not eligible for confiscation by the government, economic liberty, limited taxation, and anti-socialism are part of the indivisible whole of Individual Liberty. ★PRINCIPLE 4 - Capitalism Free enterprise, free markets, unfettered supply and demand instead of artificial government manipulation and control. ★PRINCIPLE 5 - Individual Liberty No interference in private life, business, health, assembly, speech or possessions ★PRINCIPLE 6 - Personal Responsibility That will replace the cultural obsession with entitlements, rights, hyper-egalitarianism, affirmative action, equality of outcomes with a culture of obligation, equality of opportunity, duty, risk, and freedom to fail (no matter how large an entity). Current mechanisms to level social conditions must be removed because they have led to excessive centralization of power. ★PRINCIPLE 7 - Sanctity Of Life Legal and ethical protection of the unborn and the infirm. Terminate the $300 million annually extorted taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood and their perverted sex education programs in the public schools. ★PRINCIPLE 8 - Religious freedom Counteracting widespread efforts to remove public religious expression. Thomas Jefferson said "Among the inestimable of our blessings, also, is that ...of liberty to worship our Creator in the way we think most agreeable to His will; ..." ★PRINCIPLE 9 - The rule of law Instead of the rule of Progressive ideology, judicial activism and political correctness. As Plato wrote: “Where the law is subject to some other authority and has none of its own, the collapse of the state, in my view, is not far off; but if law is the master of the government and the government is its slave, then the situation is full of promise and men enjoy all the blessings that the gods shower on a state.” ★PRINCIPLE 10 - Traditional marriage The union between a man and a woman, has been the foundation of every civilization in human history. It is incorporated into the fabric of our culture and civic life. It is the platform on which children, families and communities are nurtured. The institution of marriage is far too precious to surrender to the whims of a handful of unelected, activist judges. Males and females are born with profoundly sacred and contrasting, yet complementary characteristics and responsibilities. ★PRINCIPLE 11 - Federalism The 10th amendment to the Constitution provides that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states by the Constitution of the United States are reserved to the states or the people. Restore local and state control of education, agriculture, funding of the arts and housing and terminate the Department of Education, Department of Agriculture, Commission of Fine Arts, Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, Farm Credit Administration, Farm Service Agency, Government National Mortgage Association, Housing Office (HUD), Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD), Labor Department (DOL). ★★★★★★★
